With Image 17, PeopleSoft has delivered Self Service Matrix team functionality. I had a chance to play around with the administrative piece (delivered before) and now the self service functionality. It is so well thought out that I have already suggested a few different usages to my clients. Some of the examples are:
- Project based organizations can now have matrix project teams allowing project managers to certain accesses like performance management, job changes etc
- Alternate org structures can be maintained for various purposes such as shared service access
- Team leader can be brought into org hierarchies without messing up with PeopleSoft hierarchy

Note: One thing I am still working on is the setup of the approval process. Still having some fine refinement issues. Let me know your experience.
