Oracle PeopleSoft has a hidden gem of a functionality in Configurable Analysis Framework or CAF. We recently got first hand experience with the functionality at a retail client. With little configuration, we were able to deliver position comparison functionality out of box involving multiple metrics.
The functionality can be utilized in any scenario where a side by side comparison is required for ex. job applicants, job openings, Total compensation by departments etc. Best part is that it is completely configurable where HRIS team can configure multiple metrics and secure them by roles. Just to take an example, employee can compare various positions in the organization for career planning but only the managers will be able to view the HR manager will be able to pull in salary midpoint into the comparison.
